Baseball Recap: Borah Victorious

Borah's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Bishop Kelly Knights by a score of 7-4. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Knights on Saturday, they had to take a 11-1 loss.

Carson McCarney was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season.

In other pitching news, Aiden West looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

Back at the plate, Tate Kubena was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Colton Dennis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The victory got Borah back to even at 2-2. As for Bishop Kelly, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Borah will take on Bonneville in a tournament on Thursday. As for Bishop Kelly, they will host Rocky Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocky Mountain will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Bishop Kelly surely won't give up without a fight.
