Preview: North Henderson Knights vs. West Henderson Falcons

North Henderson and West Henderson are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The North Henderson Knights will stay at home for another game and welcome the West Henderson Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. One thing working in North Henderson's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.

North Henderson scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by North Buncombe at home to the tune of 90-60. That looming 90-60 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for North Henderson yet this season.

North Henderson found their leader in underclassman Noah Pierce, who scored 29 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The game was Pierce's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zion McDaniel, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, things could have been worse for West Henderson, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-50 loss to Hendersonville on Tuesday. West Henderson has not had much luck with Hendersonville recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Jackson Lyda put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 24 points along with four steals. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least ten points.

North Henderson's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.2 points per game. As for West Henderson, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2.

Friday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: North Henderson have been dynamite from deep this season, having nailed 51.7% of their threes per game. However, it's not like West Henderson struggles in that department as they've nailed 44.4% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

North Henderson came up short against West Henderson when the teams last played back in January, falling 70-65. Will North Henderson have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
