Basketball Game Preview: Big Pine Warriors vs. Lone Pine Golden Eagles

Big Pine hasn't had much luck against Lone Pine recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Big Pine Warriors will face off against the Lone Pine Golden Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Big Pine will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

While Big Pine didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Trona 77-26. That looming 77-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

Big Pine found their leader in sophomore NOAH ERICSON, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 15 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of CHANCE DIXON, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 13 points.

Lone Pine has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Antelope Valley on Tuesday.

Big Pine's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Lone Pine, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-4.

Big Pine might still be hurting after the 71-45 loss they got from Lone Pine in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Big Pine was down 39-13.
