Softball Recap: Canton Falls to Clopton in First Game of Season

Canton unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Clopton Hawks by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 8-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Clopton has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Canton and Clopton will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Tigers will square off against rival Knox County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Clopton is set to challenge their familiar foe Wellsville-Middletown at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
