Football Recap: Dr. Krop Comes Up Short

Dr. Krop had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 1-3 to make it six. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 22-21 to the St. Brendan Sabres. On the bright side, the 21- point effort marked the Lightning's highest-scoring match to date.

David Cesar threw for 150 yards and three touchdowns. Jeremiah Delicieux was his top target, picking up 100 receiving yards and a pair of scores. On the ground, Rico Johnson rushed for 140 yards.

As for St. Brendan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 21 points in those games.

St. Brendan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nicholas Gobel, who threw for 206 yards and three TDs. Those 206 passing yards gave Gobel a new career-high. Jakeem Ferguson was Gobel's top target, picking up 96 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Dr. Krop will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Doral Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for St. Brendan, they have already played their next game, a 35-6 victory against Jackson on the 19th.
