Volleyball Recap: Rochelle Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Rochelle and Sterling, and Sterling kept the tradition alive. The Hubs fell just short of the Golden Warriors by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Hubs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Warriors earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Rochelle started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-20, 15-13.

Rochelle has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season. As for Sterling, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-11.

Rochelle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Newman Central Catholic on the 4th. Sterling has also already played their next match (against Forreston), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
