Baseball Recap: Triton Comes Up Short

Triton was the 10-5 winner over Overhills when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Triton Hawks fell just short of the Overhills Jaguars by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday.

Brayden Bates put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Zach Roberson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-2. As for Overhills, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

While Triton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
