Baseball Recap: Union County Comes Up Short

If Union County was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Cumberland Gap last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Anderson County Mavericks on Tuesday. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mavericks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Union County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11-1. As for Anderson County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

While Union County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
