Recap: Windsor Wizards vs. Ponderosa Mustangs
The Windsor Wizards had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down Ponderosa 38-21 on Friday. The victory was nothing new for Windsor as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Mikey Munn was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 49 yards and a touchdown on only three passes. Munn was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 54 yards. Windsor also got a significant boost from Brady Lichtenberg, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Windsor's defense and their four sacks. Rylen Renton was especially locked on to Ponderosa's QB and sacked him twice.
When it comes to explaining why Ponderosa lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sean Davis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 42 receiving yards.
Windsor's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.3 points per game. As for Ponderosa, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Windsor will head out on the road to face off against Montrose at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Montrose's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last seven games. Ponderosa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
