Baseball Recap: Karnes City Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Karnes City dropped their record down to 18-6 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hondo Owls. The Badgers were not able to make up for their loss to the Owls from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

As for Hondo, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Hondo's part, their win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mason Barr, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Barr is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Looking ahead, Karnes City will be playing at home against Hallettsville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Brahmas will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something the Badgers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hondo, they have already played their next game, a 6-2 win against Orange Grove on the 26th.
