Soccer Game Preview: Marin Catholic vs. Novato

The Marin Catholic Wildcats will challenge the Novato Hornets at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Monday, Marin Catholic came up short against Branson and fell 3-1.

Marin Catholic's goal came courtesy of Enrique Guzman, who's now up to eight this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Novato, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand Branson a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hornets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Marin Catholic's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 1-1-4 and their overall record down to 6-5-5. As for Novato, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7-1.

Marin Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Novato in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will Marin Catholic repeat their success, or does Novato have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
