Pamlico County is a perfect 10-0 against Lejeune since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Hurricanes will challenge the Devilpups at 4:00 p.m. Neither Pamlico County nor Lejeune posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Pamlico County is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering West Carteret just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 4-1 to the Patriots. Hurricanes fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Patriots since Wednesday.

Avery Cain spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Pamlico County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylee Morris, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Lejeune came up short against Pamlico County on Tuesday, falling 11-1.

Alexa Ortiz made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.

Lejeune's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Pamlico County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Everything went Pamlico County's way against Lejeune in their previous meeting on Tuesday, as Pamlico County made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hurricanes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
