Baseball Game Preview: Tates Creek Commodores vs. Lexington Christian Eagles

For the second straight game, Tates Creek will face off against Lexington Christian. The Commodores will be playing at home against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tates Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Tates Creek is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 19 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Lexington Christian on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-1. The game marked the Commodores' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Tates Creek got a good showing from Blake Jones, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Jones also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Commodores are 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Owen Risalvato made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Tates Creek has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Lexington Christian, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 7-3.
