Great Crossing came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 10-9 W against the Bryan Station Defenders.

Great Crossing got a great performance from Parker Covington as he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave Covington a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Caden Howland was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Dustin Hoffman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Great Crossing always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bryan Station only posted an OBP of .394.

Great Crossing pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Bryan Station, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Great Crossing will host DuPont Manual at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bryan Station, they will be playing at home against Lafayette at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The last five games the Generals have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
