Soccer Recap: Granada Takes a Loss

After flying high against California last Tuesday, Granada came back down to earth. The Granada Matadors came up short against the Dougherty Valley Wildcats on Thursday, falling 5-2. The Matadors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-0.

Granada's loss dropped their record down to 10-4-1. As for Dougherty Valley, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Granada will take on San Ramon Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Ramon Valley's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Dougherty Valley, they will challenge Monte Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dougherty Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season.
