Football Recap: AJ Francisco's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hoover over Arcadia

Hoover lost against Arcadia back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tornados took an 18-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Apaches.

Several Tornados players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was AJ Francisco, who threw for 249 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 43 yards. A healthy portion of Francisco's aerial production (81 yards to be exact) went to Angelo Bailey.

A big part of Arcadia's win came down to the chemistry between Addison 'AJ' Pressnall and his top target Aiden Reyes. 'AJ' Pressnall threw for 232 yards and a pair of TDs on only 17 passes while Reyes picked up 171 receiving yards and two scores. Those 171 receiving yards gave Reyes a new career-high.

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Arcadia, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hoover will face off against rival Crescenta Valley at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. Meanwhile, Arcadia is set to take on their familiar foe Burroughs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
