Preview: Walton Warriors vs. Delaware Academy Bulldogs
Walton is 0-10 against Delaware Academy since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Walton Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Delaware Academy Bulldogs at 12:30 p.m. Walton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while Delaware Academy is ranked 127th).
Walton unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Sidney, falling 63-32. Walton has struggled against Sidney recently, as their contest on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Walton saw an underclassman step up: Kennedy Williams scored ten points along with two steals. Williams hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.
Meanwhile, Delaware Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 45-33 to Norwich.
Walton's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Delaware Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
Walton came up short against Delaware Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 43-34. Can Walton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
