Baseball Game Preview: Lawrence North Wildcats vs. Lawrence Central Bears

For the second straight game, Lawrence North will face off against Lawrence Central. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

While Lawrence North's win against Lawrence Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bears 3-1. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Brendan Boynton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Theo Kramer, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Anthony Ludington also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Lawrence Central and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Lawrence North, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
