Basketball Recap: Andrew Darrington's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Glencoe over Benson Tech

Glencoe lost against Benson Tech back in June of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Glencoe Crimson Tide lost 66-40 to the Benson Tech Techmen. The game marked the Crimson Tide's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Glencoe's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Darrington, who posted seven points and six rebounds. Dillon Moody was another key player, putting up five points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Glencoe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Glencoe dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Benson Tech, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glencoe and Hillsboro will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glencoe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season. Benson Tech will take on Liberty in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Benson Tech's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
