It was a good run, but Maclay unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 77-68 to the Spruce Creek Hawks. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (63), the Marauders still had to take the loss.

Maclay lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sebastian Aleksander, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Coffin, who had 15 points.

Maclay's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Spruce Creek, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Maclay and Discovery will face off at 11:30 a.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Maclay knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Discovery likes a good challenge. As for Spruce Creek, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Spruce Creek Hawks duke it out with the East River Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
