Basketball Recap: Midfield Skates Past Comer with Ease

Midfield won the last time they faced Comer and things went their way on Saturday too. The Midfield Patriots blew past the Comer Tigers 83-41. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 33 points or more this season.

Midfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Vincent Burrell, who went 8 for 13 en route to 23 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. That's the most points Burrell has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Midfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Midfield is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Comer, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8.

Midfield will host Wenonah at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Comer, they will head out to take on Childersburg at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
