Soccer Recap: Thursday's Win Is Cypress Ridge's Eighth in Last Ten Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Cypress Ridge rose to the challenge on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Houston Math Science & Tech Tigers a 1-0 shutout. Given Cypress Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Houston Math Science & Tech are ranked 328th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cypress Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3-2 record this season. Houston Math Science & Tech is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9-5.
