Volleyball Recap: Peyton Takes a Loss

Peyton had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it six. They lost 3-0 to The Vanguard School Coursers. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 5, 2017, but that streak is no more.

Samantha Nickell paced Peyton's offense, picking up nine kills. Nickell got some help from Cassidy Miller and her nine assists. Breanna Vandever controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

As for The Vanguard School, their win bumped their record up to 4-1. They have beaten Peyton the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Peyton has come to flipping the script.

Aili Haisley had a dynamite game, getting 25 digs and one assist. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peyton will take on South Park at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. After both having extra time off, The Vanguard School and Salida will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Coursers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
