Sturgeon extends home losing streak to five

Recap: Sturgeon Bulldogs vs. Westran Hornets

The Sturgeon Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 48-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westran. Sturgeon has not had much luck with Westran recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

It was another big night for Trent Brandow, who scored 13 points along with four steals for Westran. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Hollman, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.

Sturgeon's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-12. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Westran, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Sturgeon will head out on the road to face off against Wellsville-Middletown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westran, they will square off against New Franklin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in New Franklin's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
