Football Game Preview: Cascade Cadets vs. Gibson Southern Titans

Two dominant signal callers in Brady Trebley and Zach Foster are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Cascade Cadets will be playing at home against the Gibson Southern Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Cascade comes in on 13 and Gibson Southern on 11.

Cascade is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They secured a 37-33 W over Lawrenceburg. The 37-point effort marked the Cadets' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Toby Savini was his usual excellent self, rushing for 152 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries. Those 152 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucas Farmer, who gained 133 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cascade was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 333 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 250 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Gibson Southern blew past Indian Creek, posting a 42-14 win. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 23 points or more this season.

A big part of Gibson Southern's victory came down to the chemistry between Caden Rochleau and his top target Noah Kuester. Rochleau rushed for 68 yards and one TD while Kuester picked up 53 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Cascade's win bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Gibson Southern, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1.

Saturday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Cascade has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 259.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Gibson Southern struggles in that department as they've been averaging 220.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
