Volleyball Game Preview: Kearny Komets vs. La Jolla Country Day Torreys

The Kearny Komets will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the La Jolla Country Day Torreys at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Kearny is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They came up short against Sweetwater on Monday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.

Meanwhile, La Jolla Country Day lost 3-0 to San Pasqual on Thursday.

While La Jolla Country Day was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-15, 25-18.

Kearny will have to keep a close watch on Anthony Casey and Jongho Lee, a pair of players who had a big impact on La Jolla Country Day's prior game. Casey had seven digs and three assists, while Lee had 12 kills and 12 digs. The dominant performance also gave Lee a new career-high in hitting percentage (11.4%).
