Basketball Recap: Texas Wind Victorious

Texas Wind extended their postseason success on Friday against East Texas Homeschool Sports. They skirted past the East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers 45-43. This was payback for Texas Wind, who suffered a 62-22 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Texas Wind found their leader in freshman Jai Johnson, who posted 15 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. The dominant performance also gave Johnson a new career-high in assists (five). Gracie Cook was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 12 points.

Texas Wind smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive contests.

Texas Wind's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for East Texas Homeschool Sports, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 18-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Texas Wind nor East Texas Homeschool Sports have any future games scheduled.
