Not much got past Elena Ritchey, who gave up just five hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Chestnut Ridge off the board. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Ritchey.
At the plate, Elsie Barna was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Meyersdale came up short against Everett on Tuesday and fell 10-5.
Amber Long was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Karleigh Beal was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Berlin Brothersvalley pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Meyersdale, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Berlin Brothersvalley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .493. However, it's not like Meyersdale struggles in that department as they've averaged .488. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
