St. Catherine extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Laila White. The Angels came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured an 85-79 W against The Prairie School Hawks for which the team can thank White, who dropped a double-double with 33 points and 11 boards. Her big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points.

Another player making a difference was Jayda King, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last nine games she's played dating back to last season.

St. Catherine's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for The Prairie School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Coming up, St. Catherine's won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for The Prairie School, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Belleville East at 12:00 p.m. on January 2, 2026. The Hawks will need to watch out since the Lancers have now posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
