Compass Academy extended their winning streak to eight on Monday, bumping them up to 23-1. They had just enough and edged out the Brownfield Cubs 8-6. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 5-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

BRADEN HOGAN was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of REMINGTON HINESLY, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

As for Brownfield, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since May 8, 2025.

On Brownfield's side, Asiel Morin was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Morin is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Emmanuel Martinez was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Compass Academy will challenge rival Denver City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Brownfield is set to square off against their familiar foe Crane at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
