Baseball Recap: Peebles Find Success

The third road matchup was the charm for Peebles, as they earned their first away win of the season. They came out on top against the Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington Blue Jays by a score of 4-1 on Friday. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Jays, too.

Colyn Sims was excellent, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 1-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Nash Grooms also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Peebles is set to square off against their familiar foe Fayetteville-Perry at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington will take on rival North Adams at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
