The home team had won the previous five meetings between New London and Seymour, and Seymour kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs lost 18-4 to the Thunder on Monday. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

New London saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Erin O'Donoghue, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

New London's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Seymour, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-6.
