Newfield took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They skirted past Copiague 20-18. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Half Hollow Hills East played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 55-21 loss at the hands of Northport. The RedHawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-7.

Half Hollow Hills East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Newfield, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
