Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jsiyah Taylor and Yvette Brown Lead Booker to Victory

Booker had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victor by a 72-46 margin over the Gibbs Gladiators on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Tornadoes in their matchups with the Gladiators: they've now won seven in a row.

Leading Booker to victory were Yvette Brown and Jsiyah Taylor. Brown went 6 of 14 en route to 21 points along with seven steals and five boards, while Taylor posted 22 points. The dominant performance gave Brown a new career-high in steals. Kennedy Guy was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Booker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Booker's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23.2 points. As for Gibbs, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
