Baseball Recap: Williams Field Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Williams Field had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Mountain View Toros. Six seems to be a good number for the Black Hawks as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Williams Field got a great performance from Jaxon Valdez as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Valdez has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Asher Landry and Malcom Harrison did most of the damage at the plate: Landry scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Harrison went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikolas Ramirez, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Williams Field pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Mountain View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Williams Field will be taking part in a tournament against Pinnacle at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Williams Field's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Pinnacle's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mountain View, they will take on Gilbert in a tournament on Monday.
