Basketball Recap: Verndale Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

Verndale kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 66-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Parkers Prairie Panthers. The Pirates have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Verndale will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Upsala at 7:15 p.m. on January 8, 2026. As for Parkers Prairie, they will head out to take on Rothsay at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Panthers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
