Softball Recap: Mandeville Comes Up Short

Mandeville fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Academy of Our Lady on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Penguins by a score of 10-9. The Skippers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Penguins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2018.

Savannah Windham stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored three runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Richard, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Mandeville's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7. As for Academy of Our Lady, they moved to 7-14 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mandeville will take on Zachary at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Academy of Our Lady, they will challenge De La Salle at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
