Football Recap: Lexington Eagles vs. Rice Consolidated Raiders
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lexington had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 38-27 victory over the Rice Consolidated Raiders. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Noah Wright-Harris was his usual excellent self, rushing for 108 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Kase Evans, who threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns.
Lexington wouldn't let Rice Consolidated keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Lexington can thank Brock Herring and Zack Carter for forcing both of them. Carter is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in the last 24 games he's played dating back to last season.
Lexington's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Rice Consolidated, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.
Lexington has the luxury of staying home for another week and will welcome George West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. George West is coming into the game with five straight victories on the road, so Lexington will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Rice Consolidated does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
