Basketball Recap: Central Islip Takes a Loss

Central Islip was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 73-36 loss at the hands of the Walt Whitman Wildcats. The Musketeers were probably out for revenge after losing 67-27 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Central Islip's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Walt Whitman, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Islip will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Riverhead at 4:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Walt Whitman, they will take on William Floyd at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
