Basketball Game Preview: Lathrop Malemutes vs. West Valley Wolf Pack

The Lathrop Malemutes will challenge the West Valley Wolf Pack at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Tuesday, Lathrop came up short against North Pole and fell 40-28. The defeat continues a trend for the Malemutes in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, West Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Barrow 64-17. While losing is never fun, the Wolf Pack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Whalers are ranked 17th).

West Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Lathrop, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Everything came up roses for Lathrop against West Valley in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 47-9 win. Does Lathrop have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
