After a string of seven wins, Denver City's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They came up short against the Slaton Tigers, falling 9-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered since March 28, 2024.

Denver City's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Slaton, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.

Denver City wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 21-0 victory against Non Varsity Opponent on the 1st. As for Slaton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 21-9 win against Lubbock Christian on the 4th.
