Volleyball Game Preview: Cambridge N/A vs. Mechanicville Red Raiders

Cambridge is 2-8 against Mechanicville since October of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The N/A will square off against the Red Raiders at 4:15 p.m.

On Thursday, Cambridge didn't have quite enough to beat Hartford Central and fell 3-2.

Cambridge took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-27, 14-25, 25-19, 15-9.

Meanwhile, Mechanicville had just enough and edged out Hoosic Valley 3-2 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Red Raiders have posted against the Hawks since October 7, 2019.

Mechanicville took Hoosic Valley into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-12, 25-20, 18-25, 15-13.

Cambridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Mechanicville, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Everything went Cambridge's way against Mechanicville when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as Cambridge made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the N/A since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
