Baseball Recap: Valley Christian Wins Going Away Against Hollister

Valley Christian barely beat Hollister the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Valley Christian Warriors blew past the Hollister Haybalers 12-2 on Tuesday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Haybalers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Brock Ketelsen and Quinten Marsh made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Ketelsen tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Marsh didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Furthermore, Ketelsen didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024. At the plate, Ketelsen scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3, while Marsh scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance gave Ketelsen a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hunter Fujimoto, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Colton Hadfield was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Valley Christian's record is now 3-0. As for Hollister, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Valley Christian will host Wilcox at 4:00 p.m. on March 12th. As for Hollister, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge Palma at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Hollister's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
