Recap: Pearl-Cohn Firebirds vs. Lexington Tigers

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Pearl-Cohn Firebirds walked away with it. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-2 victory over Lexington. The win was just business as usual for Pearl-Cohn, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.

Javion Kinnard continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Kinnard really tore up the turf during one magnificent 98-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Keshawn Tarleton, who rushed for seven yards and a touchdown.

Pearl-Cohn's win was their fifth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points per game. As for Lexington, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Pearl-Cohn will play host again and welcome Station Camp, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Station Camp will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Pearl-Cohn is ranked 15th). Lexington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
