Piedmont owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. Everything went their way against the Putnam City Pirates as they made off with a 9-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Piedmont is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Putnam City, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-24.

Piedmont will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
