Soccer Recap: Cardinal Gibbons Gets the Win

Cardinal Gibbons won the last time they faced Calvary Christian Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles.

Deven Garcia was the driving force of Cardinal Gibbons' attack as he scored both of Cardinal Gibbons' goals, bringing his season total up to eight goals.

Cardinal Gibbons' victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they moved to 7-3 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Cardinal Gibbons and Calvary Christian Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Cardinal Gibbons (ranked 178th) will meet South Broward (ranked 12th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy (ranked 110th) will meet NSU University (ranked ninth) at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
