Recap: Pea Ridge Blackhawks vs. Farmington Cardinals
If The Pea Ridge Blackhawks were feeling good off their 34-10 takedown of the Clarksville Panthers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pea Ridge took a 36-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Farmington on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pea Ridge in their matchups with Farmington: they've now lost five in a row.
Luke Elsik had a dynamite game for Farmington, rushing for 193 yards and four touchdowns. Elsik is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Lester, who threw for 123 yards and a touchdown on only seven passes.
Pea Ridge's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 5-4. As for Farmington, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Pea Ridge will look to defend their home field on Friday against Harrison at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Harrison's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Farmington, they will head out on the road to face off against Prairie Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
