Basketball Game Preview: Harding Raiders vs. Canfield Cardinals

The Harding Raiders will challenge the Canfield Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Harding was fully in charge, breezing past Boardman 79-46. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Canfield entered their tilt with Howland on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 56-37 victory over the Tigers. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Tigers are ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Harding is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Canfield, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Harding didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Canfield when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 54-49 victory. Will Harding repeat their success, or does Canfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
