Recap: Desert Christian Eagles vs. Mohave Accelerated Patriots
The Desert Christian Eagles had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 35-34 photo finish over Mohave Accelerated. Desert Christian's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Desert Christian found their leader in underclassman Tyson Dobbins, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dobbins has scored at least 25% of Desert Christian's points. Jonathan Brown was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Desert Christian has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 3-0 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Mohave Accelerated, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Christian will take on Horizon Honors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Horizon Honors focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Mohave Accelerated, they will head out on the road to face off against Parker at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
