Softball Game Preview: Heritage Hurricanes vs. Kecoughtan Warriors

Heritage is 0-8 against Kecoughtan since March of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Hurricanes will be playing at home against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Heritage 2.3, Kecoughtan 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Heritage is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season two weeks ago. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 1-0 to Bethel, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, Kecoughtan had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Saturday. They never let the Wolverines get on the board and left with a 23-0 win. Give the Warriors' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Kecoughtan pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
